Introduction
In the previous article, you uploaded documents to the OCR Centre. Now it’s time to review the information that was pulled out from those files — kind of like checking homework done by an AI assistant!
This step is where you make sure everything looks right. You’ll see the scanned document on one side, and the text that was pulled from it on the other. If something looks off, you can fix it with just a click.
Let’s walk through how to do that!
Where do your documents go?
Once your files are uploaded, you’ll find them in two places:
OCR Centre → All OCR Documents
OCR Centre → {Document Type} (like Passport, Invoice, ID Card…)
Just click on any document to open it in review mode.
This mode splits your screen into two parts — one to look at the file, one to check or fix the data.
What you see in review mode
The screen is divided into:
Left side: Extracted data
Right side: The original file you uploaded
You’ll see a list of fields — like Name, Date of Birth, or Address — and the values the system found for each. These come from the document you uploaded.
Now here’s the cool part: when you click on a field, the system will highlight exactly where that piece of info came from in the document. It even draws a little curved line from the data box to the document so you know what’s what.
Types of fields you might see
Some fields are simple, like:
{full_name} → John Doe
{birth_date} → 14/06/1992
But some are grouped into parts. For example:
{address} might include street, city, and country
{contacts} might show a list of people, each with their own info
If you see a group of fields, you can click to open them and edit each part one by one. There’s no rush — just go through them like you’re filling in a regular form.
Editing values that look wrong
Sometimes, the system might guess wrong — maybe it reads a blurry number or grabs an extra word.
To fix this:
Click inside the box
Change the value or delete it
That’s it!
Once you start typing, the red line and highlight will disappear — this just means you’ve taken over and made the final call.
Reviewing lists or repeated data
If your document has repeating rows — like a list of items, names, or prices — the system will try to group them into a list.
You can:
Click to open the full list
Edit each item
Remove anything extra or add missing info
Don’t worry if it feels long — you only have to do this once per document.
What to do after reviewing?
Once everything looks good, you have a few options:
Mark as approved — if it’s ready to use
Export the data — if you want to save or share it now
(If you want help with exporting, check out the Export OCR Data article!)
